Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Logistics & Procurement Coordinator to optimize and manage our company's procurement, logistics, and shipping operations. This role plays a critical part in sourcing goods and materials, managing vendor relationships, coordinating shipping and inventory activities, and ensuring compliance with international regulations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiencies, reduce costs, and meet business goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong experience in global supply chains and logistics management.
Key Responsibilities:
Item Procurement & Inventory Management:
- Secure high-value materials and components essential for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality deliveries.
- Implement and manage a robust procurement plan to avoid stockouts, minimize holding costs, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and align procurement strategies with business needs and project timelines.
- Coordinate and manage logistics workflows, including inbound and outbound shipments, optimizing transit times and minimizing costs.
- Develop and execute logistics strategies to enhance supply chain efficiencies, with a focus on transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Manage customs documentation and ensure compliance with import/export regulations, especially for international shipments.
- Schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or shipping discrepancies.
- Identify and establish relationships with high-quality suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize cost efficiency and improve lead times.
- Continuously assess supplier performance and identify opportunities for innovation and cost-saving solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with production, warehousing, and project management teams to align logistics and procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Experience: At least 3–5 years in logistics, procurement, or supply chain coordination, with experience in international shipping and global supply chains.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and data analysis skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and supply chain management tools.
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping documentation.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships and work cross-functionally.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in English and Dutch is a plus.
- Proactive with strong initiative and decision-making abilities.
- Highly organized, with excellent multitasking skills and attention to detail.
